Mayaweb

Thank you for visiting the English section of Mayaweb. My name is Sebastiaan Roeling and I am an anthropologist from the Netherlands. I've been studying the Maya culture for many years, and made this website in honor of the Culture I fell in love with during my first trip to Mexico.

On this section of the website, you can find all old pages of the well-known website www.mayaweb.nl. The website is focussing on the Lacandon Maya of Chiapas, Mexico. However, I am also planning to expand the English pages on this new location with my second passion: Genealogy.

The English translation of the book "Shadows of Bonampak" is now available! Check out my bookstore! 

The English section is mainly dedicated to the Lacandon Maya's, although you can find some interesting things on the Ancient and other Modern Maya cultures (for example: How to write your name in Maya hieroglyphs).
